A short history

Shrine tradition dates its founding at Otemachi to 730. It moved to the present site in 1616; the current reinforced-concrete main building was completed in 1934.

The official deity guide associates Onamuchi (also called Okuninushi) with relationships, Sukunahikona with business prosperity, and Taira no Masakado with protection. These are worship traditions, not guaranteed outcomes. Counter hours are not grounds hours; recheck the dated amulet notice for visits after December 2026 and confirm goshuin reception separately.

Getting there
From Yushima Station exit 3, the official guide offers a stair route and a route via Tenjin-shita intersection and the Kasuga-dori slope. The latter avoids stairs but still has an incline; allow extra time. Do not assume both routes take the same time.
