Compare the visit scope, transport notes and prayer traditions of the shrines currently listed here. This is a selected guide, not a complete regional directory.
Compare shrine visits in Kyoto, Osaka and Nara with the two separate Ise Jingu sanctuaries in Mie. The region covers different city itineraries: torii paths, lantern-lined approaches and Ise’s forest walks have different walking commitments. Shrine-time estimates exclude intercity transport, paid exhibitions and meals. Kumano Nachi Taisha in Wakayama adds a mountain pilgrimage setting, requiring a separate transport plan from the region’s large cities.
